Sunday nights at the Déjà vu 2 is the only place to be after
hours. After the day parties and the football games end, the people like to go
to the clubs to enjoy drinks and music to complete the weekend. The Déjàvu 2
is Atlanta’s premiere night club and after hours spot located in the Ben Hill
neighborhood in SW Atlanta. This nightclub does not end until the sun comes
out, which normally around 6am on Sunday nights, or Monday mornings rather.
Status Sundays begin with Dj Tokars, otherwise known as the
“Mayor of the Streets”. He is most known for his aggressive approach to
breaking both records and artists. After his first Dj set, the gorgeous Dj
Princess Cut of Hood Rich ent begins her set, which premieres live on Hot
107.9, one of the top hip hop radio stations in the nation. Her energy sets her
apart from most female Djs in the industry.
While at the Déjà vu 2, I had the pleasure of speaking to Jay, which is the owner of the establishment. As we met up he explained his involvement in the community. He invests his time and money into the development of young minds in the community. As a former professor at Clark Atlanta University, he believes that being involved in the community in a positive manor overrides his reputation for maintaining one of Atlanta’s top night clubs for over 6 years strong. His philanthropy speaks for itself.
